A big gang related to paper leak in the CGL exam conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has been exposed. The SIT team of Jharkhand CID has taken action and arrested 8 people including 5 IRB jawans.
All of them are accused of cheating the candidates in the name of giving question papers.
The CID's Special Investigation Team (SIT) was investigating an old paper leak case when this gang was exposed. The CID issued a press release stating that the arrested accused include 6 jawans of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), 1 jawan of Assam Rifles and a home guard posted in Ramgarh district.
The SIT is now looking for the mastermind of this gang, who is a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The investigation also revealed that this gang had taken some candidates to Nepal and offered to give them the question papers of the examination. However, till now the CID has not found any concrete technical or physical evidence related to the paper leak.
According to the CID, the investigation was started on the basis of a complaint lodged under the Jharkhand "Competitive Exam Prevention and Redressal of Unfair Means in Recruitment Act 2003". On September 21 and September 22, the JSSC CGL exam was held in 3 shifts across the state. In this exam, complaints were received about cheating and extortion of money in the name of giving question papers to the candidates.
The CID said in its statement that the gang members extorted money from the candidates before the exam by luring them to give the question paper. Due to this, rumors of CGL paper leak started spreading.
The arrested accused include Kundan Kumar alias Mantu, resident of Aurangabad, Bihar, constable in IRB-8, Godda, Robin Kumar, resident of Giridih, Jharkhand, constable in IRB-8, Godda, Akhilesh Kumar, resident of Koderma, Jharkhand, constable in IRB-8, Godda, Gaurav Kumar, resident of Chatra, Jharkhand, constable in IRB-8, Godda, Abhilash Kumar, resident of Giridih, Jharkhand, constable in IRB-8, Godda, Ram Niwas Rai, resident of Aurangabad, Bihar, Assam Rifles jawan posted in Ludhiana, Punjab, Niwas Kumar Rai, resident of Aurangabad, Bihar, home guard in Ramgarh district and Kaviraj alias Motu, resident of Aurangabad, Bihar and nephew of Ram Niwas Rai.
The CID is now looking for the kingpin of the gang, who is said to be a resident of Gorakhpur. The investigation has also revealed that this gang had extorted money from many candidates, but no concrete evidence of paper leak has been found so far. The police are now busy in catching the mastermind and exposing the entire network.
