Chemists in the state capital swapped prescriptions for cricket bats on Saturday as the first-ever Chemist Premier League cricket tourney got underway at the Old Campion Ground.
Organised by the Bhopal Chemists Association, the four-day event runs until April 8, with all matches held at night.
Association President Jitendra Dhakad said 12 teams are split into four groups. Four 10-over matches are scheduled each evening, with semi-finals and final on April 8.
The opening match featured Pharma Tigers vs RDMCC Raisen in Group A. Other fixtures included Sehore Chemist Champions vs Pharma Warriors, and Surgical Commanders vs RDMCC Raisen.
Sunday’s games include Generic Super King vs Life Savers Eleven, Pharma Tigers vs Surgical Commanders, Shiv Sai Group vs Pharma Warriors, and CM Super King vs Bhopal Chemist Champion.
Monday will see Life Savers Eleven play Cricket Super Star, Pharma House Chemist Super King face CM Super King, and two more Group C and D games under lights.
