Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has said that in compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, a meeting has been held with the recognized political parties on election related issues. Suggestions of political parties were taken in the said meeting. Currently, work will be done to implement the suggestions of recognized political parties as per the legal provisions. He said that in the meeting, suggestions have been received especially to reduce the relocation of polling stations and make it zero. Along with this, the representatives of recognized political parties suggested to include the names of such voters in the voter list of the nearest polling stations, who have to go to a distant polling station to cast their vote despite having a polling station nearby. Shri K. Ravi Kumar was holding a meeting with the representatives of all recognized political parties in the Election House on Thursday.
In the meeting, Shri K. Ravi Kumar expected the enhancement of election related knowledge of the booth level agents working at the ground level of the political parties and their cooperation in the work of BLO. He said that political parties must appoint their booth level agents booth wise and also keep them informed about the guidelines given by the Election Commission. In the meeting, Shri Kumar also learned about the experiences of voters and political parties at the grassroots level during and after the elections. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the District Election Officer and ERO of all the districts are also holding meetings with recognized political parties at their respective levels.
On this occasion, Joint Chief Election Officer Shri Subodh Kumar, Junior Election Officer Shri Sunil Kumar, representatives of all recognized political parties and election related officials were present.
