Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria described the budget presented by Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda on Wednesday as a commitment to women’s prosperity. She stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, a budget of Rs 27,147 crore has been allocated for Women and Child Development for the financial year 2025-26.
Bhuria emphasized that the government has prioritized the holistic development of women by embracing the spirit of “Yatra Nariyastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata”, which translates to “Where women are honored, divinity prevails.” She further mentioned that this year’s budget focuses on the welfare of the poor, youth empowerment, farmers, and women empowerment.
Bhuria highlighted that Rs 18,669 crore has been allocated for the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana’, aimed at enhancing women’s economic independence, health, nutrition, and decision-making roles within families.
