Bokaro, March 26, 2025 – BSL has introduced a ‘Change of Trade’ policy to streamline business operations and ensure compliance. Plot holders and licensed shopkeepers who have shifted to restricted trade without prior approval can now apply for a trade category update. This policy aims to create a more organized and transparent commercial environment.
As part of the implementation, BSL’s TA-LRA department issued over 250 notices in February 2025, instructing non-compliant businesses to submit their applications and fees within two months. Failing to do so will result in penalties and additional charges. Industries such as nursing homes, restaurants, fuel storage, and welding units fall under restricted trade and require specific licenses like fire safety NOCs, FSSAI certification, and environmental approvals.
BSL has updated that misinformation is being spread, misleading business owners about the policy. The company urges all stakeholders to verify details through official channels, comply with the guidelines, and take advantage of the renewal and trade update opportunities to avoid legal complications.
