Under the dynamic leadership of Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director In-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), the plant has achieved its best-ever performance in the financial year 2024-25. BSL set new benchmarks in production, dispatch, and techno-economic parameters, reinforcing its position as a leader in the steel industry.
Key milestones include record-breaking hot metal production with four furnaces in operation, highest-ever crude steel output from SMS-New, and a significant rise in CR saleable steel production. The plant also improved critical techno-economic indicators such as energy consumption, coke rate, and CDI rate, along with record dispatch of granulated slag.
Compared to the previous year, BSL registered 5.0% growth in hot metal production, 4.7% increase in total crude steel output, and an 8.7% rise in total CR saleable steel.
On April 1, Tiwari, along with the senior management team, toured various departments, personally congratulating employees and contract workers for their contributions. Chief of Communications M.K. Dhan praised the relentless efforts of Team BSL, stating that the achievement reflects the dedication and teamwork of the workforce.
Tiwari emphasized the need to sustain this momentum, urging Team BSL to maintain high standards in safety, quality, and operational efficiency in the new financial year. His visionary leadership continues to drive BSL towards greater heights of excellence.
