The Bokaro Handicraft Centre, operating under the CSR initiative of Bokaro Steel Plant, has launched YUKTA, a brand dedicated to promoting eco-friendly handicrafts made by rural women artisans. The retail outlet, located in Sector-2, Bokaro Steel City, is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
YUKTA showcases a variety of sustainable products crafted from natural materials like bamboo, jute, and water hyacinth. These include decorative trays, slippers, lamp shades, and home décor items. The initiative has trained over 600 women, many of whom continue to work from their villages or at the centre.
Future plans include seasonal product launches and craft workshops for students, aiming to preserve traditional skills while providing livelihood opportunities.
By supporting YUKTA, consumers contribute to the development of local communities and the promotion of sustainable craftsmanship.
