CM Saini condoles demise of Union Minister Bhupender Yadav’s father
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday reached Jamalpur village in Gurugram and expressed his condolences on the demise of late Kadam Singh, father of Union Forest and Environment Minister and Alwar MP Bhupender Yadav. The Union Minister's father passed away on Saturday at the age of 92. His last rites were performed on Saturday in his ancestral village Jamalpur. The Chief Minister paid tributes by offering flowers on the photo of late Kadam Singh and prayed for peace to the departed soul. He met the Union Minister and his family members and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
200 flats lying unallotted since 2015: MP Tewari
CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Member of Parliament (MP) & Former Union Minister Manish Tewari on Sunday said that according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), around 200 apartments in Maloya have remained unallotted since 2015. These apartments were constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U). Tewari said that during the ongoing Lok Sabha session, he had raised the question whether it was true that the houses built under PMAY-U in Maloya, Chandigarh, remained unallotted and had deteriorated. In response, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, stated that 2,195 houses constructed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) in Maloya, Chandigarh, were later converted into Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs). Of these, 1,997 houses have been allotted to beneficiaries on a rental basis and are currently in use. These houses were converted into ARHCs after the closure of JNNURM on March 31, 2014.
National Centre for Disease Control will benefit patients from 7 States: Anil Vij
Chandigarh: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij, while inspecting the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) under construction in Naggal, Ambala Cantonment, said this institute will play an important role in the investigation and research of various diseases. He said that this centre being built at a cost of Rs 17 crore will benefit patients from seven states including Haryana, so that they do not need to go to Delhi or Pune. The first phase of this centre being constructed on four acres of land is in progress, while the main building will be constructed in the second phase. Scientists at NCDC will do research on identification, control and prevention of infectious diseases. This centre will be helpful in the investigation and prevention of diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, hepatitis and measles.
Govt ensures equal development for all sections of society: Hry Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said that over the past 10 years, the BJP government has focused on equal development of all sections of the society, and this progress will continue uninterrupted. Panwar was addressing residents at a felicitation ceremony in Bhandari village, Panipat district, on Sunday. He said that no stone will be left unturned in development work in the state as well as in Israna assembly. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 is gaining strong public support and under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana will continue its journey of progress. He also said that India’s rapid development is evident to everyone. Earlier, progress was only on paper, but since the BJP government came to power, real, ground-level development has taken place.
No compromise on quality in government work: Minister Gangwa
Chandigarh: Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa on Sunday said that there will be no compromise on quality in government work. Clear instructions have been given to officials to maintain the quality of construction work. If negligence is found in road construction or other works at any level, action will be taken against officials and the concerned agency. The minister was talking at a press conference held in Hisar on Sunday. He said construction works are checked from time to time so that public money can be utilized properly at the right place and right time. In response to a question asked about the sewerage system of Hisar's auto market, he said as soon as this matter came to his notice, instructions were given to officials to get the sewerage system repaired. Instructions have been given to fix the sewerage and road system with best quality not only in the auto market but everywhere else as well.
PGI organizes a week long special diet clinics in all OPDs to celebrate World kidney Day
Chandigarh: The department of Dietetics, PGIMER, Chandigarh held week-long celebrations of World Kidney Day, 2025 , starting from March 10-15 by organizing special diet clinics in all OPDs of PGI including the new OPD and Advanced cardiac center. The aim was to sensitize the public as well as patients regarding uncontrolled high blood pressure and its repercussions on kidney health ultimately leading to kidney failure if preventive steps are not taken in time, said the PGI official. He said that On this occasion, health talks regarding prevention and control of blood pressure and kidney failure through dietary management were delivered by the dietetics team including Chief Dietician, Dr Nancy Sahni on proper hydration, appropriate salt, fruits and vegetable intake and a balanced diet according to various life styles . Queries about the role of intermittent fasting and special diets for blood pressure as well as kidney failure were also addressed to.
PGI to host two- day- conference on ‘Current Trends in Translational Research’ today
Chandigarh: The Department of Translational & Regenerative Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh has announced that two Pre-Conference Workshops on cGMP manufacturing of Cells for therapeutic purposes and MedTech Mitra session in collaboration with ICMR for innovators will take place on Monday. The PGI official said that this interactive session will bring together leading scientists, clinicians, and industry experts to explore the latest advancements, manufacturing procedures and challenges. Future directions in the field of cell based therapy and strategic handholding to the innovators for clinical evaluation, regulatory facilitation and uptake of their innovations will be discussed in these workshops, he added.
Swachh Survekshan: Chd MC Commissioner appeals citizens to join hands with MCC in citizen feedback
Chandigarh: Ahead of Swachh Survekshan, Amit Kumar, Commissioner, MC, Chandigarh on Sunday appealed the citizens of city beautiful to join hands with MCC in citizen feedback, which is a major component during direct observation of Survekshan, which is likely to begin in next few days under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0. The Commissioner appealed to the residents to actively participate in the survey and share their feedback on cleanliness of their surroundings. He also exhorted people to submit feedback on a link provided by the Ministry. “The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, has provided an online link for submitting feedback at http://sbmurban.org/feedback. Anyone can submit their feedback,” said the Commissioner. This year's Swachh Survekshan is covering various parameters such as cleanliness, beautification, garbage-free city star rating, open defecation-free status, and water plus category. The Commissioner emphasized that citizen participation and feedback would play a crucial role in determining the rankings.
Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen inaugurated in Panipat
Chandigarh: Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Sunday inaugurated the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen run by the grain market Madlauda Market Committee in Panipat District on Sunday. During the event, the minister inspected the canteen along with market officers, traders, and farmers. To experience the canteen’s service, Panwar purchased a meal for just Rs.10 as per the canteen’s policy and sat among the traders and farmers, and enjoyed the food. He praised the quality and taste of the food and directed officers to maintain high food standards and cleanliness. He also assured that he would personally inspect the canteen from time to time. After the inauguration, Panwar listened to the concerns of traders and farmers. Acting immediately, he directed the Electricity Department's SDO to install 2 to 3 transformers in the grain market within a week to resolve power supply issues.
