Punjab to get ‘Best State’ and ‘Best District’ Awards under Green Schools Prog
Chandigarh: Punjab has once again set a benchmark in environmental sustainability by securing the prestigious ‘Best State’ and ‘Best District’ awards under the Green Schools Programme. These accolades, facilitated by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and the Punjab Government’s Department of Science, Technology and Environment will be conferred during ‘Green Schools Awards Ceremony’ organized by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on February 4 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The awards celebrate Punjab’s exemplary efforts in fostering environmental awareness and sustainability among school communities, reinforcing its leadership in the nationwide initiative.
Kurukshetra Civil Hospital tops State rankings
Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Kumari Arti Singh Rao on Friday said that the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released a list of the health institutions receiving the "Kayakalp" award. Among these, Kurukshetra District Hospital has been ranked first at the state level for the current financial year. In addition, 768 other institutions across Haryana have also been honored with the Kayakalp Award. She further said that the quality of healthcare facilities in the state government health institutions is continuously improving. This progress is evident from the fact that the Central Government has awarded the "Kayakalp" award to 769 health institutions in Haryana this year, a significant increase from the 390 institutions that received the award last year.
38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela to begin in Faridabad from Feb 7
Chandigarh: Haryana Heritage and Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma on Friday met Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in New Delhi and formally invited him to the inauguration of the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela, scheduled to be held in Faridabad from February 7. Shekhawat said that an action plan will be prepared to bring Haryana's rich civilization, culture, and tourism on the global stage. He also emphasized the need to enhance the grandeur of the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela and to involve major partner countries in the event in the future. Shekhawat stated that the time has come to showcase Haryana's tourism on the global stage, similar to the recognition of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. He emphasized that the Central and Haryana Governments will collaborate to develop a special action plan to ensure that the world experiences and appreciates the richness of Haryana’s culture and tourism.
Joshi inaugurates CISF Unit Parade Ground at Punjab & Haryana Civil Secretariat
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Parade Ground of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit at the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat. During the ceremony, Joshi highlighted the pivotal role played by the CISF in safeguarding the nation’s critical installations and lauded the force’s ability to effectively counter security threats. He praised the CISF personnel for their unwavering dedication and service and emphasized that the new Parade Ground would significantly enhance the efficiency of their training and practice sessions.
