Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) swiftly cleaned the Rang Panchami procession route within 30 minutes of its conclusion on Wednesday, ensuring the city remained clean after the celebrations.
Sanitation teams were deployed across the old city’s major locations, including Loha Bazar, Jumerati, Sindhi Market, Bhawani Chowk, Lakherapura, Chintaman Chowk, Itwara, Mangalwara, Chowk Bazar and Hanumanganj. These areas were covered in colours, flower petals and other waste following the grand procession.
Sanitation workers from zones 2, 4 and 5 carried out the operation with 30 workers and five vehicles under the supervision of assistant health officers. Waste collected from the streets was transported to disposal sites immediately. The cleaning plan was executed systematically, with workers following the procession and cleaning behind it. By the time the celebrations ended, the route had been fully cleared.
The BMC has consistently maintained its commitment to cleanliness during festivals and public events. The municipal effort reflects the civic body's firm resolve to enhance efficiency in waste management, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and businesses in the city.
