Bhopal Municipal Corporation has lodged a complaint against unidentified youths vandalising and stealing BMC boards and goods installed on VIP Road during GIS.
For the Global Investors Summit held on 24-25 February in Bhopal, the Municipal Corporation had spent crores of rupees on beautification work.
The corporation had also installed BMC boards on VIP Road. One of these boards was broken by some youths. At the same time, the net was also uprooted.
A video of this act of two youths has also surfaced, in this, a youth is seen uprooting the BMC board and taking it away, while the other youth had a narcotic substance in his hand. In the video, they are seen talking about selling the board and the net in the Old Categorised market.
Corporation Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi said that those who spoil the beauty of the city will not be spared. Strict action will be taken. Instructions have been given to the officers regarding this. Along with day, monitoring will now be done at night as well.
The corporation had spent about Rs 33 crores for the summit. The corporation did the work of painting and fountains in many areas including the airport, Manav Sangrahalaya, Boat Club, MP Nagar, Char Imli, Shyamala Hills.
Rs 5.76 crore were spent on this. Along with planting lakhs of plants, 17.25 crore rupees were spent on the work related to the lake. At the same time, lighting has been done in the entire city for about 10 crore rupees. In this way, a total of 32.74 crore were spent.
Earlier, on March 1, corporation officials caught a person red-handed while breaking the net installed in Kamla Park. Later he was handed over to the police. Talaiya police station took action.
