Tuesday, 18 March 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

After the Holi vacation, the budget session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will resume from March 18. It will run till March 27. It is known that the budget session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is going on since February 24. On March 3, the budget for the financial year 2025-26 has been presented in the House by the state government. Now the discussion on the grant demands of various departments is going on in the House every day.

As per the pre-scheduled program, the proceedings of the Assembly were also on March 18. But due to Holi, the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly adjourned the proceedings of the House on March 18. Instead, now the topics included in the agenda of Monday will be discussed on Saturday. However, according to internal sources of BJP, the party can create ruckus in the House on Tuesday regarding the clash between two communities in Ghorthambha. It can disrupt the Question Hour. It can try to surround the government in the House demanding a high-level inquiry into the incident.

On Monday, Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi took stock of the violent clashes that took place on Holi in Ghorathamba market of Giridih district. He walked through the entire market and inspected the burnt shops. He also met the victims and reviewed the entire incident.

Targeting the state government for having minority appeasement policy, he said that the role of the police in this entire episode was to protect the criminals, goons, miscreants and attackers. He said that every year people have been going on the street and road in Ghorathamba on which no dispute took place during festivals, but this year, Hindu brothers were attacked in a planned manner while playing Holi.

The BJP has been raising various issue since the beginning of Assembly session. The BJP has been raising questions in the House regarding the leak of JAC matriculation (10th) exam question paper and the sand mining issue. The BJP has been demanding for a CBI inquiry into the question paper leak case.

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on February 20 cancelled the class 10 board examinations for Hindi and Science after the papers were allegedly leaked, and copies of those went viral on social media. JAC had written a separate letter in this regard to the Deputy Commissioners of Koderma, Giridih and Garhwa. In these three districts, it was first reported that the question paper had gone viral. It is being investigated in all the three districts.

The issue of question paper leak has come up in different districts of the state. It is being investigated at the district level in all the districts. Till now, the investigation has not revealed how and from where the paper was leaked.
