The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched its latest campaign song, "Dil walo ki Delhi ko ab BJP Sarkar chahiye", ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5. The song has been sung by former BJP MP and Bhojpuri singer-actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua while senior BJP leader Neel Kant Bakshi is its creative director. BJP's song, 'Dil Walon Ki Delhi Ko Ab BJP Ki Sarkar Chahiye', focuses on the party's key promises that also featured in the "Sankalp Patra". Highlighting Mahila Samman Yojna, Ayushman Bharat, the BJP is attempting to cater to almost every section in the national Capital.
The song came out just an hour after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) threw some shade by releasing a poster on social media featuring Amit Shah's portrait with a bold statement: "muft suvidhaye band karne wala asur", calling the BJP the evil force trying to take away all the freebies Delhiites have come to love.
Speaking during the launch of the campaign song, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said, "It's our fourth campaign song which is sung by our former MP Dinesh Lal Yadav." BJP leaders also praised the Union Budget presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, calling it a "golden budget". Sachdeva also said that the Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday was a "golden budget." Speaking at the launch, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari told mediapersons that when the BJP announced its manifesto, someone asked him how the party plans to fulfil all the promises made in it.
"I responded by saying that whatever is mentioned in the manifesto is already being implemented in Haryana and Maharashtra," Tiwari said. The discussions led to the idea of launching another campaign song to raise awareness among the residents of Delhi, he said. "We felt the people of Delhi should be informed about these developments, and that's when the idea for this song was conceived," the BJP MP from Northeast Delhi said.
Tiwari also said that while campaigning on Saturday, he forgot to highlight a key takeaway from the Union Budget.
"Someone from the crowd reminded me I missed mentioning that those earning up to Rs 12 lakh annually will now be completely exempt from income tax. This shows that people are aware, and they want a BJP government," he said.
