Bhopal is preparing for the Global Investors Summit (GIS) on 24-25 February 2025, with a focus on improving infrastructure and beautifying the city ahead of the event.
The state capital will host over 20,000 guests, including top industrialists like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Anand Mahindra, as well as international investors from 25 countries.
To ensure a seamless experience for attendees, the state government has allocated Rs 45 crore for road repairs, beautification, and development projects across the city. The Public Works Department (PWD) is spending Rs 15 crore on upgrading 26 major roads, including VIP Road, Airport Road, MP Nagar, and key routes leading to tourist attractions like Van Vihar.
Alongside the road improvements, the Municipal Corporation of Bhopal has been tasked with beautification efforts worth Rs 30 crore. Projects include repairs to historic landmarks like Gohar Mahal and infrastructure improvements along the VIP Road area.
Additional upgrades include the construction of retaining walls along the airport approach road and improvements to the Boat Club and Bada Talab, ensuring the city looks its best for the summit. The Tourism Board is also enhancing major tourist spots, including Bhimbetka Caves, Sanchi Stupa, and Bhopal’s lakes, to offer a more attractive experience for both domestic and international visitors.
A food festival celebrating Bhopal's traditional cuisine, along with a shopping and handicrafts fair, will showcase the city’s vibrant cultural heritage during the summit.
These improvements reflect the state's push to create a lasting impression on global investors and tourists. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's international outreach efforts have emphasised Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to attracting investment. With these extensive renovations, Bhopal is attempting to position itself as a modern business hub, ready to host international investors and showcase its potential on the global stage.
