Family members of Adil, who was allegedly killed by eunuchs in the Budhwara area on March 16, gathered and protested at Talaiya police station late Tuesday night. Their agitation intensified after a new video surfaced, clearly showing the victim losing consciousness after being stabbed in the chest.
In the viral video, an eunuch is seen holding Adil while a youth named Raunak, who is accused of the murder, stands nearby. The footage also shows another eunuch punching Adil in the chest as he lies in a pool of blood. Several other eunuchs and bystanders are visible at the scene, watching the incident unfold. The entire episode reportedly occurred on Sunday morning.
Following the emergence of the video, Adil’s family accused the police of shielding the main culprits. They alleged that Raunak, who allegedly stabbed Adil in the chest, has not been arrested, nor has the eunuch who struck him after he became unconscious.
Adil's elder brother, Shahab, expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation. He claimed that the FIR only names two eunuchs, Mehak and Nawab, while other key suspects remain uncharged. Shahab further alleged that the police ignored their repeated statements that Raunak alias Ronnie, a resident of Mata Mandir, was responsible for stabbing his brother.
According to Shahab, Talaiya police station in-charge (TI) C.B. Rathore asked him to gather evidence himself. Acting on this, Shahab reportedly obtained video footage from the vicinity, which confirmed the involvement of other individuals in the murder. Despite presenting this evidence to the authorities, the family claims the police delayed taking action.
The protest prompted Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Riyaz Iqbal to visit the police station late Tuesday night. He assured the family that all remaining accused would soon be identified and arrested. He also confirmed that Raunak would be made the primary accused in the case.
By Wednesday, the police had detained Pinky Kinnar and another eunuch in connection with the murder. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have assured swift action against all those involved.
