The admission process for the academic session 2025-26 has commenced at Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas, run by the Social Welfare and Tribal Development departments.
Selection will be made through an entrance exam for vacant seats in classes 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 in these Central Board of Secondary Education- recognised schools. Interested candidates can apply until March 22, 2025.
The entrance exam for classes 6 to 9 will be held on March 30, and the results will be announced on March 31. However, for class 11, there will be no entrance exam. Instead, admission will be based on a merit list prepared from 10th-grade marks.
There are a total of 70 seats available in classes 6 and 7, with 35 students per section, while admissions to classes 8 and 9 will be based on vacancies. In class 11, a maximum of 20 students will be selected.
As per the reservation policy, 60 per cent of seats are for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, 25 per cent for Other Backward Classes, and 15 per cent for general category students. Additionally, 85 per cent of the seats are reserved for rural students, and 15 per cent for urban students.
The entire selection process will be conducted under the supervision of the district magistrate, ensuring transparency and fairness. The preparation and evaluation of question papers will be done by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), following the same process as all government ashram system schools in the state. The government has emphasised the need for transparency to ensure meritorious students receive high-quality education and equal opportunities.
The academic session for all selected students will begin on April 1, 2025. The government has issued strict guidelines to ensure transparency in the selection process, allowing meritorious students access to high-quality education and ensuring equal opportunities for students from all categories.
