District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner, Ranchi Manjunath Bhajantri chaired an important meeting in view of the problem of drinking water in summer through video conference with all the concerned officials here on Monday.
In the meeting, the DC instructed all the concerned officials to get the broken hand pumps repaired in the rural areas of the district as soon as possible. He took it seriously so that people do not have to face the problem of drinking water in the summer season and gave special instructions to Ranchi Municipal Corporation, Executive Engineer, Drinking Water and Sanitation Division, East and West, Ranchi.
In the meeting, the DC instructed to get the rate of water tanker fixed in urban areas, so that the common people do not have to pay more.
In view of the heat, the district administration has already geared up, so that the problem of drinking water does not arise in Ranchi city and rural areas. Regarding this, the Deputy Commissioner had already given necessary guidelines to all the concerned officials. In many places, the tap has been repaired, and in the remaining places, repair work is being done.
In the meeting, a list of defunct taps was sought from the head of all the Panchayats, so that the defunct taps can be repaired on time, so that the people of the rural area do not face the problem of drinking water in summer.
The DC asked all the concerned officials in the meeting that what action plan has been made by you to avoid the problem of drinking water in summer, have you done the mapping of tankers, from where will water be supplied to these tankers. Taking detailed information on this, many important guidelines were given by him. He also said that action should be taken on the complaint of Jal Mission Yojana and all the concerned officials should look into the arrangement of drinking water in their respective areas from now itself.
Where the tap dried up last summer, ensure from now itself what arrangements have been made for drinking water this time. Pay special attention to ensure that people do not face shortage of drinking water this time.
