Young chess prodigy Adhiraj Mitra delivered a stellar performance at the Jharkhand Chess Festival 2025, clinching both the U13 and U15 State Championship titles. Representing East Singhbhum, the 12-year-old showcased his mastery on the board, outclassing competitors from across the state.
Adhiraj first secured victory in the U-13 category, held from March 26-27, scoring an impressive 5.5 points out of 6 rounds. He then dominated the U-15 FIDE-rated tournament from March 28-30, achieving a perfect 8 out of 8 points and gaining 27 rating points.
The tournament witnessed fierce competition, with over 50 participants from various districts battling for the top honors. Adhiraj’s exceptional performance has now earned him a spot at the Nationals, a significant milestone in his budding chess career.
