A disturbing case of sexual abuse involving a 9-year-old girl was reported in Nishatpura area. The incident occurred during Holi celebrations, when the accused lured the victim to his home under the guise of protecting her from the festivities and molested her.
The accused later threatened and told not to report the incident. The crime came to light during a school awareness program on "bad touch," prompting the girl to confide in her mother.
A police complaint was filed, and a case was registered under the POCSO Act and molestation charges. Authorities are actively searching for the accused.
In a separate incident near Chola Mandir, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly harassed by a youth named Shafiq near Galla Mandi. The accused reportedly made obscene gestures toward her while she was passing by. The victim informed her family, who then filed a police complaint. Investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, in Bairagarh, a 17-year-old schoolgirl reported continuous harassment and physical assault by a neighbor, Nitesh Kushwaha, over the past four months.
The accused allegedly followed her to school, pressured her into a relationship, and changed her route to avoid him. When she resisted, he verbally abused her outside her home and physically assaulted her when she confronted him.
Bystanders intervene, forcing Nitesh to flee. The girl’s family lodged a police complaint, and a case has been registered under molestation and assault charges. Efforts to arrest the accused are ongoing.
