Bhopal is set to host the Indimoons Arts Festival, a six-day cultural extravaganza celebrating art, literature, theater, and cinema, beginning on March 4 at the Hansdhwani Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan. Organized by Rang Theatre Cultural Group with the support of the Madhya Pradesh Culture Department, the festival is dedicated to veteran theater artist Late Alok Chatterjee.
Festival convener Bijon Mandal, in a press conference on Wednesday, shared that this is the first time Rang Theatre is organizing such a grand festival. The event will feature live performances by renowned artists from the fields of theater and cinema, along with engaging discussions on acting, film, and performing arts. Additionally, an open stage performance will provide a platform for talented youth. All cultural performances will commence daily at 7 PM.
The festival will also include "Curtain Call," a series of discussions curated by Club Literati, covering various aspects of mythology, theater, and cinema. These sessions will take place daily from 3 PM to 5 PM at Gauranjini Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, featuring discussions on Mythology: Roots of Performance, Crossing the Divide: Theater to Cinema, Alok’s Theater: A Legacy of Passion and Performance, and Theater for the Next Generation: Young Voices, New Perspectives. Speakers will include prominent figures such as Atul Satya Kaushik, Nitish Bharadwaj, Makrand Deshpande, Rajiv Verma, Tikam Joshi, Rakesh Dixit, Manoj Joshi, Vinay Upadhyay, Rita Verma, Manoj Nair, Bhumika Dubey, and Lokesh Gulayini. Eminent personalities like authors Malay Jain, Meenotpal Mrinal, Girija Shankar, and Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra will also participate.
To encourage young talent, the festival will host Open Stage Performances daily from 5 PM to 7 PM, featuring performances by Avani the Band, students from Scindia School and The Sanskaar Valley School, Shayari on Wheels poetry session, and a band performance by Anshul Mathur.
With an exciting lineup of performances and discussions, the Indimoons Arts Festival promises to be a cultural treat for art lovers in Bhopal.
