335 players from MP to participate in National Games-2025

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that National Games-2025 are going to start in Uttarakhand from 28 January. 335 players from Madhya Pradesh are going to participate in these. 35 sports have been included in the National Games, out of which Madhya Pradesh will participate in 25 sports competitions and one demonstration sport. He said that we hope that the players of Madhya Pradesh will give their best performance.

While talking to media persons, Sarang said that in the last National Games, the gold medal winner was given a prize money of Rs 5 lakh, silver Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand and bronze medal winner Rs 2 lakh 40 thousand. This time it will be hiked to Rs 6 lakh for the gold medal winner, Rs 4 lakh for silver and Rs 3 lakh for bronze medal winner as prize money. Last time Madhya Pradesh stood fourth. This time also, players of Madhya Pradesh will perform brilliantly in the National Games and achieve the leading rank.

Sarang told that this time, while innovating, preparations have been made to send the team in advance to adapt to the environment of Uttarakhand. Also, players will be trained through special training camps. Work has also been done on the needs of sports and facilities of the players. A team of special trainers and officers is also going with them.

MP will perform in 25 sports including Kalaripayattu

The Minister told that Madhya Pradesh will perform in Kalaripayattu in the demonstration sport. Along with this, athletics, archery, cycling, basketball, handball, rowing, kayaking, canoeing, slalom, yoga, fencing, mallakhamb, weightlifting, boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, triathlon, wushu, modern pentathlon, squash, gymnastics, hockey (men and women), judo, shooting and badminton sports are also included. Players from Madhya Pradesh are participating in training camps for the National Games. In these camps, the benefits of sports experts, coaches and modern facilities are being availed. Players are being provided the best training and resources so that they can perform brilliantly in the competitions.

Sports science support for players

Minister Sarang informed that the largest contingent in the National Games is hockey (men and women), which has 32 players. Athletics has 28 players and rowing and wushu have 23 players each. Olympian players Vivek Sagar and Aishwary Pratap Singh from Madhya Pradesh will also participate in these games. Players are being provided with travel fare, general kit, official kit, modern sports equipment and excellent level infrastructure. Sports science support is also being provided to improve the performance of the players. This includes physio strength and conditioning experts, nutrition, sports psychologist, physiotherapist and video analyzer. One chief de mission, two deputy chief de mission, photographer, office assistant etc. have also been included with the team.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate on January 28

Minister Sarang informed that the National Games will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 28 in Dehradun. Various sports competitions will be organized at 10 places across Uttarakhand. This 38th National Games 2025 will have 35 games including both Olympic and indigenous games. More than 10 thousand athletes are expected to participate in it.
