A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her neighbour in Chola Mandir area, fearing life from the accused victim, revealed the incident on Wednesday with her mother while she faced atrocity on April 5.
Police said victim's neighbor Arjun forcibly entered the home of a 17-year-old girl and raped her on the afternoon of April 5, 2025. The victim, who resides in Shankar Nagar with her parents who work as laborers, was alone at the time of the incident.
Arjun, a frequent visitor to the family’s house, took advantage of her solitude. Threatening to kill her, he committed the heinous act, leaving the terrified girl too scared to immediately report the crime.
For several days, the victim concealed the trauma from her mother. However, on Wednesday, April 9, she braved to reveal to her mother about the horrific ordeal.
Together, they reached the police station that same day and filed a complaint against Arjun. Acting swiftly, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) late that night under the supervision of TI Suresh Chandra Nagar.
