The 16th Central Finance Commission held a meeting with representatives of industry and trade organizations at the Export Bhawan, Pithampur, to discuss issues related to industrial development and economic cooperation. The meeting was attended by Commission members Ms. Annie George Mathew, Manoj Panda, Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Secretary of the Commission Rithvik Pandey, Joint Secretary K.K. Mishra, Commissioner Deepak Singh, and Collector Priyank Mishra.
Chandramouli Shukla, Managing Director of MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), shared details of the Industrial Promotion Policy, emphasizing the vast opportunities it offers for the private sector. He stated that the meeting would help bring new opportunities for industrial development in Madhya Pradesh and assist in conveying the industry's demands to the central government.
Commission member Annie George Mathew assured that all suggestions presented by the industry representatives would be Jconsidered.
Representatives from industrial organizations presented several suggestions concerning various industries and trade. These included the establishment of an air cargo hub and an airplane maintenance hub, the need for skill development centers for women's empowerment, data centers, and multimodal logistics parks. Members highlighted the necessity for more support from the central government for Madhya Pradesh, considering it is a tribal and forested area, and advocated for the promotion of the agriculture and healthcare sectors. They also emphasized the need for new investments and modernization in the auto industry and support for increasing costs in the R&D sector.
Additional demands included the establishment of new skill centers and funding for plastic recycling and biodegradable plastic production, improved railway connectivity to boost industrial development, support for the real estate industry, special attention to the textile industry's needs, a duty-free local market, better infrastructure for strengthening the tourism sector, and more schemes for the development of small industries.
Collector Priyank Mishra provided information on the geographical and social features of Dhar district and explained how the government is working towards industrial development in the region.
