Tata Steel UISL has inaugurated a state-of-the-art 1000 KLD (Kiloliters per Day) Sewage Pumping Station and flagged off a Septic Tank Cleaning Vehicle, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban infrastructure and efficient sanitation services.
The new facility was inaugurated by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, who also flagged off the cleaning vehicle in the presence of Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director, Tata Steel UISL. Also present on the occasion were Sanjeev Kumar Jha, General Manager, Water and Wastewater Services, and Senior Leadership team from Tata Steel and Tata Steel UISL including senior union representatives.
The 1000 KLD sewage pumping station is designed to enhance the city's wastewater management system by efficiently transporting sewage to treatment facilities, thereby reducing environmental impact and improving sanitation. Additionally, a septic tank cleaning service initiative was launched on April 1, 2025, aimed at providing professional septic tank cleaning to households in Jamshedpur that are not directly connected to the sewer line network of Tata Steel UISL within the Tata Steel command area.
Residents in the Tata Steel Command Area can access the Septic Tank Cleaning Service by contacting the JUSCO Sahyog Kendra at 0657-66-46000, available 24/7. This service guarantees timely and reliable cleaning for a fee, performed by a skilled in-house professional team, with a strong emphasis on environmentally safe disposal methods to minimize ecological impact.
Tata Steel UISL remains dedicated to enhancing urban infrastructure and sanitation services, aligning with its mission of creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
