Rahul Gandhi attacks INDIA bloc ally

n Heating up the election fervour ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack at his political rivals including AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi while hitting out at the ruling party for ‘sheeshmahal’ and alleged money laundering linked excise policy scam. He also took a dig at the media for not highlighting the real issues, instead focusing on ‘Ambani wedding’ and cricket matches.

Addressing a public gathering in Patparganj,   Gandhi claimed that while former Chief Minister came with the promise of bringing ‘clean politics’, he is now known for the biggest liquor scam and sheeshmahal.

“On one side there is BJP and on the other there is Kejriwal who says whatever he wishes. He said we will do a new kind of politics. He said we will change Delhi. And when poor needed him, he was no where to seen. When there was violence in Delhi, he was no where to be seen,” he said, while campaigning for Congress’ candidate Anil Choudhary.

Hitting out the ruling party, Gandhi asserted, “He said that the AAP will bring clean politics. Despite this, he is now known for the biggest liquor scam and resides in sheeshmahal.”

He added that when PM Modi threw him out of his home, he gave him the keys, stating that he doesn’t need their house. Calling the sitting MLA and former Chief Minister Manish Sisodia the ‘architect’ of liquor scam, he said, “Manish Sisodia was a candidate before, who is the architect of liquor scam along with Kejriwal. Now he has run away from the seat out of fear.”

With Gandhi addressing his second public meeting in the national Capital for the upcoming state polls, scores of party supporters gathered to hear him with the atmosphere palpable with enthusiasm. Resident of the area claimed that roads are filled with potholes and the schools, that the AAP claims to have build, were built in former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit’s rule and are merely renovated by the incumbent government.

Taking a jibe at the media, he said, “I am saying that they are our friends but they are not. While the nation is grappling with poor infrastructure, unemployment and hunger, they show Ambani wedding and Modi attending it.”

“This is the game and this game is being played by media. They will show face of Modi, Amitabh Bachan, Ambani wedding, cricket match,” he added

Gandhi claimed that while there will be ‘Mann ki bat’, the media will never show the real problems of the country. He also said that only the public suffers from this. “The entire system is to steal from you and distract you,” he added.

The senior Congress leader also said that there is an ideological fight between his party and the RSS and BJP.

“Our fight is for Ambedkar’s constitution. They said they will change the constitution. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the true independence didn’t happen on 15 August, 194y but when Modi came. This means they insulted our independence,” Gandhi asserted

Over the statement of Bhagwat on Ram mandir consecration ceremony, the Congress MP said, “You wouldn’t have seen a poor person in Ram Mandir’s inauguration neither was President Murmu seen, who belongs to the tribal community. She wasn’t even invited for the new parliament building inauguration. They want an India of rich people when the constitution says that India is of all. Where is it written that all the ports and airports will be of billionaires?”

The Congress leader asserted that while the companies are of Gautam Adani, the control is in PM Modi’s hand. “Who profits from Demonetisation and GST? The billionaires. Their policies are for the billionaires. Have you asked that with privatisation that is happening, who is getting benefits? Who do you think the money goes to? They do not come in your hand. Only 5 to 7 per cent people run this country,” he alleged.

“They tell you that you should send your kids to colleges. They sell you big dreams. You spend a lot of money and think that your child will get employed if they become something. The truth of this country right now is that despite you doing anything, they will not get employment,” he claimed.

He also promised to carry out a caste census in Delhi if voted to power.

“We will break the wall that does not increase reservation beyond 50 per cent,” he added.
