Rohini Nakshatra, in Vedic astrology, symbolises growth, fertility, and prosperity, besides being considered as auspicious. Not without reason, Rohini in North Delhi is becoming home to a school dedicated to growth and empowerment of special children.
Inaugurated early this week by Narendra Nath Misra, Independent, Non-Executive Director, and Gajanan S Kale, CEO, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd.
Along with top dignitaries of the company, the ‘Udaan Special Learning School’, is an inspiring initiative of Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd along with partner NGO, Viklang Sahara Samiti Delhi (VSSD). The school primarily caters to special children aged 6 to 18 years, targeting those with intellectual disabilities, hearing and speech impairments, and mental developmental issues. Currently, 50 beneficiaries have already enrolled in the program, which offers a structured curriculum that emphasises daily living skills, and vocational training. “Every child deserves encouragement and the opportunity to realise their potential. Udaan Special Learning School aims to give wings to the dreams of children with special needs by providing rehabilitation services and vocational training while creating skilled professionals to support individuals with intellectual, speech, and hearing disabilities. Through guidance, training, and care, this initiative seeks to nurture their abilities and empower them to lead confident, self-reliant lives,” said Kale on the occasion.
