Seema Haider, a mother of four from Pakistan who risked everything to be with her Indian lover, has now stepped into a new chapter of her life-motherhood once again. She gave birth to a baby girl at 4 am on Tuesday at Krishna Hospital in Greater Noida. Both mother and child are in good health, her lawyer AP Singh confirmed. “For those who have followed Seema and Sachin’s journey, this is a moment of celebration,” said Singh.
“A daughter has been born, and both mother and child are perfectly fine.”
In a rare move, Seema and her husband Sachin Meena have decided to involve the public in naming their newborn.
“We invite people from across the country and beyond to suggest a name for our daughter. Social media users can send in their choices based on Indian traditions, and the name with the most votes will be chosen,” Singh added. Seema Haider, originally from Sindh, Pakistan, first met Sachin Meena through the online game PUBG. Their virtual friendship soon turned into love, leading her to take a drastic step. In 2023, she illegally entered India via Nepal, bringing along her four children from her previous marriage to Ghulam Haider, a Pakistani national. Their love story soon came under legal scrutiny. July 2023, Seema and Sachin were arrested for her illegal entry into India but were later released on bail. Seema converted to Hinduism and married Sachin, vowing never to return to Pakistan. Back in Pakistan, her first husband, Ghulam Haider, continues to fight for her return, insisting that she was misled and that their children should be raised in Pakistan. Seema, however, remains firm in her choice. “I would rather die than return or leave Sachin. I request the Indian government to grant me citizenship,” she has declared. As Seema and Sachin embrace their new journey as parents, the legal uncertainties around their case remain. But for now, the couple is focused on their newborn daughter-whose name, fittingly, will be chosen by the people.
