Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency Kashi on April 11 for the 50th time, marking a significant milestone in his deep association with the city. Ahead of addressing a public rally in Mehdiganj, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 44 development projects worth Rs 3,884.18 crores. He will also digitally transfer Rs 106 crore as bonuses to dairy farmers linked to Banas Dairy (Amul).
At a press conference held on Wednesday at the Circuit House, BJP regional president Dilip Patel, district president Hansraj Vishwakarma, and city president Pradeep Agrahari shared the details of the PM’s visit. They stated that of the 44 projects, 19 will be inaugurated, including 130 rural drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission, amounting to Rs 345.12 crore.
The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at 10:30 am. The BJP leaders emphasized that this landmark 50th visit is a testament to PM Modi’s unwavering bond with the people of Kashi. To welcome him, party workers will march in processions with music bands, and large numbers of people are expected to arrive at the rally in two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Preparations for the event are in full swing across the city. Around 1,000 hoardings are being installed to welcome the Prime Minister, and a district-wide cleanliness drive has been launched by BJP workers. Tight security arrangements have been put in place for the PM’s visit. Entry to the event venue in Mehdiganj will be allowed only after proper checking and frisking. The VIP security detail will include six Superintendents of Police (SPs), eight Additional SPs, 33
Deputy SPs, and around 4,000 personnel from the police, PAC, and paramilitary forces. Rooftop security will be deployed along the VIP route and around theevent venue.
Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal and ADG (Security) Raghubir Lal held a high-level meeting with gazetted officers of the commissionerate to review the security plan. Aggarwal instructed that surveillance will be conducted through CCTV cameras. Officers on VIP duty will brief personnel at their designated duty points, and the use of mobile phones by security personnel during duty will be strictly prohibited.
“No police personnel will carry firearms at the VIP event venue under any circumstances,” said Aggarwal. “Police should maintain discipline and politeness while dealing with the public. Crowd control ropes will be used along the route and at the venue to manage attendees effectively,” he added.
The city is abuzz with preparations as Kashi readies itself to welcome its MP and the Prime Minister for yet another high-profile visit.
