Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kanpur on April 24, where he is likely to address a massive public rally at the Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) grounds. Preparations for the high-profile visit have already begun, with senior administrative and party officials on the ground to oversee arrangements.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath may visit Kanpur on April 16 or 17 to review the preparations and hold meetings with district officials regarding ongoing development projects and event logistics.
During his visit, the Prime Minister may also take a short ride on the Kanpur Metro from Nayaganj to Geetnagar. On Tuesday, District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh inspected the Nayaganj Metro Station and discussed security and route arrangements. The metro journey is expected to be a symbolic showcase of the city’s growing urban infrastructure.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate a total of 250 development projects across Uttar Pradesh, with the department-wise list currently being finalised.
Key among these are the newly constructed Panki Power Plant and the Neyveli Power Plant in Ghatampur, which are already operational and supplying electricity to both the state and the central grid. These projects will be inaugurated virtually from the rally venue.
Preparations at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology grounds are in full swing. Initially, the rally was to be held at the Railway Ground in Nirala Nagar, but the venue was later shifted to the CSA campus. Equipment for setting up the stage and pandal has already been delivered, and late-night inspections by senior officials, including ADM City Rajesh Kumar, are being conducted to ensure readiness.
According to preliminary plans, PM Modi’s chopper will land at the Chakeri Airport, from where he will fly directly to Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology via another chopper. After addressing the gathering, he is expected to travel by car to Nayaganj Metro Station, board a metro to Geetnagar, and then return to the rally site.
Officials from the district administration, police, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are coordinating closely to ensure seamless execution of the Prime Minister’s visit, which is seen as a significant moment ahead of upcoming political developments in the state.
