The Delhi Police bagged the Best Marching Contingent Trophy in Republic Day Parade this year, making it the 17th victory for the police.
The Delhi Police Women’s Contingent also won in 2024. “This remarkable back-to-back achievement underscores the unwavering commitment, hard work, and unity of the Delhi Police, further solidifying their reputation as one of the finest contingents in the Republic Day Parade. Prior to this, the contingent also won the Best Marching Contingent Trophy in 2021, with a previous win in 2006,” a statement by the police said.
It added that the Delhi Police Marching Contingent, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rishi Kumar Singh, IPS, showcased exceptional synchronization and dedication. It compromised three Sub-Inspectors, 44 Head Constables, and 100 Constables, the contingent’s iconic Red Safa-clad jawans, each standing over six feet tall, adding grandeur to the performance.
The newly raised All-Women Delhi Police Band also participated for the second time in the Republic Day Parade. Led by Band Master Ruyangunuo Kense, the Band Contingent included 04 women Sub-Inspectors and 64 women Constables, all trained to perform with precision.
