This financial assistance given by the Governor of Chhattisgarh is like a lifesaver for them.

Governor Ramen Deka has extended his support to the cause of education in the arts by approving financial assistance of `1,90,000 from his discretionary grant. This generous initiative will benefit 38 underprivileged students from Assam, the North Eastern region, Manipur, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, who are pursuing their studies at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh. Each of these students will receive `5,000 for the academic session 2024-25, helping them continue their education in music and fine arts. During his recent visit to Khairagarh district, Governor Deka attended a vibrant cultural program organized by the university. He expressed his admiration for the performances and took great delight in learning that students from the Northeast come here each year to pursue their passion for music.

Established in 1956, Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya holds the distinction of being Asia’s only music university.
