Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday thanked the people of Telangana for their support to the BJP in Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) elections. The BJP has won two out of three MLC seats there. Elections were held on February 27.
"I thank the people of Telangana for blessing @BJP4Telangana with such phenomenal support in the MLC elections. Congratulations to our newly elected candidates," Modi said in a social media post. "I am very proud of our party Karyakartas working among the people with great diligence," he said.
In another post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the victory of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the graduate MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh.
"Congratulations to the winning candidates. The NDA governments at the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh will keep serving the people of the state and take the state's development journey to new heights," the prime minister said, responding to a post by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the victory of NDA candidates in the polls.
NDA candidates A Rajendra Prasad and P Rajasekharam won the graduate MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh, while an independent candidate secured victory in the teachers' constituency MLC poll.
Home Minister Amit Shah expressed gratitude to the people of Telangana for blessing the BJP with a thumping victory in the election to the state's legislative council.
"Gratitude to the people of Telangana for blessing the BJP with a thumping victory in the MLC election. Your trust inspires us to serve even harder," Shah said in a social media post.
The home minister said this is a triumph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's untiring efforts to develop Telangana.
"Heartiest congratulations to Telangana BJP President @kishanreddybjp Ji along with the Karyakartas of the party for all the hard work," he said.
