A 50-year-old hotel operator was arrested for allegedly shooting and injuring three people during a fight in a hotel located in Gurugram’s Pataudi area on Tuesday, police said.
The three victims have been identified as Sandeep, Saurabh, and Asif. While the accused hotel operator was identified as Rajkumar, a resident of village Bappas in Gurugram. Rajkumar was arrested at the incident spot along with his licensed weapon. According to the police, on Tuesday around 11.30 am, information was received at the Police Station Pataudi, Gurugram, regarding a firing in a hotel in Pataudi.
Based on the information, the police team reached the spot, where it was found that a minor girl had come to that hotel with an adult boy.
The girl’s family gathered in large numbers and reached the hotel searching for the girl and tried to enter the hotel.
During this, the girl’s family had an altercation with the hotel owner; the hotel operator then fired a shot from his licensed weapon, in which three persons, including the girl’s cousin brother and two bystanders, were injured, police said. Soon after the incident, the police team reached the spot and got the scene of the incident inspected by the scene-of-crime fingerprint teams.
“The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stable. The police are investigating the incident, in which action will be taken according to whatever facts come to light. A case under relevant sections has been registered against the suspect,” Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of the Gurugram police, said. Earlier in February, the Gurugram Police had found the bullet-ridden bodies of a man and a woman in a hotel room located on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.
