India’s Direct Selling Industry Crosses Rs 22,000 Crore, Women Sellers Rise to 44 per cent
New Delhi: India’s direct selling industry has reached Rs 22,142 crore in FY 2023-24, marking 4.4 per cent YOY growth, per an IDSA-IPSOS survey. The northern region leads sales (29.8 per cent), followed by East (24.2 per cent). Wellness products dominate (64.15 per cent), with cosmetics second (23.75 per cent). Active direct sellers grew to 88 lakh, with women’s participation rising from 37 per cent to 44 per cent. Union Minister Chirag Paswan lauded the industry’s role in self-employment and pledged policy support.
