Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath continued his whirlwind campaign tour to Pilibhit, Rampur, and Hapur constituencies of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, evoking tremendous response from people.
In Pilibhit, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he urged voters to support BJP candidates Jitin Prasada and Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar in their respective constituencies — Pilibhit and Bareilly. CM Yogi also extended warm wishes for the Indian New Year to all the people.
Yogi rallied support for Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi in Rampur for a second term and advocated for the election of Kanwar Singh Tanwar from Amroha.
While discussing the developmental strides made in India over the past decade and in Uttar Pradesh over the last seven years, the chief minister fiercely criticised opposition parties for lack of intent, exclusive approach and appeasement politics.
Addressing a public meeting in Pilibhit, Yogi said that the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev was once part of united India, blaming Congress’ “devious tactics” responsible for India’s unfortunate partition seven decades ago. However, he praised the Kartarpur Corridor’s establishment, facilitated by PM Modi’s leadership, as a testament to India’s commitment to Sikh heritage and unity.
“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ celebrations on December 26, commemorating the valor of the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh,” he stated. Yogi also underscored the significant sacrifice made by these revered figures to safeguard the Hindu religion and Indian culture.
“Emphasising the importance of honouring their contributions, the prime minister dedicated December 26 to commemorate their bravery. This initiative has garnered nationwide attention, with events marking the occasion taking place across the country today,” he added.
The chief minister also lauded India’s remarkable progress towards global eminence under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, hailing it as a “Golden Era”.
“The transformative changes are clearly evident across the country in terms of enhanced security, rapid infrastructural development and the benefits of welfare schemes reaching the underprivileged,” he added.
“Sugarcane price payments to farmers are now being made promptly, a stark contrast to the previous practice of delays spanning several years, thanks to PM Modi’s leadership. It is due to the electorate’s trust in Modi ji’s leadership in 2014 and 2019 that we witness a transformative India today,” he pointed out.
The CM stressed the importance of voting wisely to prevent governments involved in corruption, jeopardising national security and the future of our youth, indulging terrorists with biryani, inciting unrest, and driving farmers to despair from coming to power.
Addressing another public meeting in Rampur, Yogi Adityanath said that before 2014, Pakistan used to carry out blasts in India and get away while today, the country starts clarifying even when a firecracker explodes.
He remarked: “The era of passivity towards terrorism is over. Formerly, Pakistan’s provocations were met with silence, but today, even minor incidents prompt immediate denials from Pakistan. The nation’s stance has evolved significantly, showcasing a resolute response to threats, including swift airstrikes.”
The chief minister said that in the past, candidates used to disappear from public view soon after winning elections and used to talk about their families rather than development. He highlighted the transformative approach of BJP’s Ghanshyam Lodhi, who “dedicated himself to Rampur's progress.”
“The NDA alliance secured victories in four out of five assembly seats in Rampur, with all elected representatives actively engaged in implementing developmental initiatives,” Yogi added.
The CM announced plans to establish a sugar mill in Rampur in the near future. “Our aim is to foster a prosperous Rampur where fear is nonexistent, and mutual respect prevails in the hearts of its inhabitants. No one should dare to encroach upon the land of the underprivileged. Our vision is to cultivate a Rampur where everyone feels valued and secure,” he stated.
Addressing a public meeting to seek votes for BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Amroha, Kanwar Singh Tanwar, Yogi said that the SP and BSP governments patronised cow smugglers and failed to provide both electricity and security to the people. He remarked: “In the past, thieves would brazenly steal cows tied outside homes without consequence, and police would be mobilised to locate a buffalo belonging to a Samajwadi Party leader from Rampur. Farmers received no assistance when their cattle were stolen.”
The CM emphasised that the SP and BSP preferred darkness, neglecting to provide electricity, which led farmers to resort to installing water pumping machines in their fields, only for them to be stolen as well. “Today, there are improved provisions for electricity and security without discrimination,” he stated.
Yogi appealed to the people to not repeat the mistake made last time by electing someone who was ashamed of chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ in the parliament.
