A female prisoner convicted in a murder case escaped from Hamidia by befooling a female guard on Saturday afternoon. Kohefiza police had registered a case in this matter and started looking for her.
The woman kept hiding at different places in Bhopal day and night on Saturday. On Sunday morning, she reached Kurwai district by bus. From there, she reached home to meet her family. The police had activated the informer system. The police immediately got information about the woman reaching home and she was caught within a few hours of meeting her family.
In fact, Kohefiza police informed Kurwai police as soon as they got information about the woman being at home. The police took the woman into custody there. A team of Kohefiza police station has left to take the woman into custody. The police team can bring the woman to Bhopal by Sunday night.
According to the information received from the Central Jail, Saleha Khan (24) a resident of Kurwai district Vidisha, is an undertrial prisoner in a murder case. On April 27, she was transferred from Vidisha jail to Bhopal Central Jail. She was one month pregnant.
On Saturday, June 22, around 12 noon, pregnant Saleha was sent to Sultania Ward of Hamidia Hospital along with female guard Anita Tripathi for routine checkup. After the checkup, the female doctor asked to bring urine for examination.
Saleh went to the women's bathroom with female guard Anita to bring urine. The bathroom was very crowded. As soon as the female prisoner went to the bathroom, the female guard also went to freshen up in the bathroom in front and soon came out. But by then, female prisoner Saleha had escaped from there.
The female guard ran around the entire hospital but could not find any trace of the female prisoner. As soon as the information about the case was received, a verbal and later a written complaint was sent to Kohefiza police by the jail management. At present, no trace of the escaped female prisoner has been found.
The jail management made all efforts to search for the escaped female prisoner at its level but could not find any clue. On checking the footage of CCTV cameras, the female prisoner was seen going out of the Fatehgarh gate of Hamidia Hospital. It is being said that none of the relatives of the female prisoner had reached the hospital. The female prisoner was not in contact with the family members for the last several days.
On the other hand, Kohefiza police also started the search by registering a case on the complaint of the female constable. After checking more than two dozen cameras, the police found out that the woman had reached Nadara bus stand. On this basis, the police activated informers till Kurwai.
Kohefiza police station SHO Brijendra Merscole said that information was received about the absconding female prisoner being caught. After the information, the team left for Kurwai on Sunday afternoon.
