A woman Maoist carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on her head on Tuesday surrendered to security forces in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
Kumari Bame Markam (25) turned herself in, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said.
Markam was a member of the Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Baudh, Nawagarh (KKBN) Division under the Mahanadi Area Committee of the outlawed Maoist organisation.
So far, 667 Naxalites, including 170 carrying cash rewards, have quit violence in the district since June 2020.
