Weather system now moves to eastern part of MP

An active strong system has moved forward in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa and Sagar divisions and now till the new system becomes active, there will be light rain, bright sunshine and shade in the state.

Due to heavy rain on Tuesday, 9 gates of Bargi Dam in Jabalpur have been opened. All the gates were opened up to 1.6 meters on Wednesday. Heavy rain occurred in Gwalior-Bhind this morning. Schools were closed.

Collector Ruchika Chauhan had issued its order late Tuesday evening. Five gates of Tighra Dam have been opened here. Due to this, the Sank river is in spate. An alert has been issued in the villages situated on the river bank.

Drizzle was also witnessed in Tikamgarh. It has been raining in Gohad of Bhind since late night. Here the Vaisali reservoir has crossed the full tank level. Many villages have lost contact with Bhind headquarters.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Morena, Sheopur and Shivpuri on Wednesday. So far, 41 inches of rainfall has been recorded which is about 10% more than the normal rainfall. Mandla, Seoni and Sheopur are such districts where 50 inches or more of rainfall has been recorded.

Meteorologist VS Yadav said that it is raining in the state due to low pressure area and monsoon trough. Now this system has moved forward. This will reduce the rain activity.

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in Bhind, Morena, Sheopur and Shivpuri in the next 24 hours. Light rain and thundershowers may persist in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur and other districts. On the other hand, there are chances of bright sunshine in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla and Anuppur.

Due to rain, the dams and ponds of the state have overflowed again. On Tuesday, water was released by opening two gates of Bawanthadi dam in Balaghat. The water level has also increased in many dams including Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Madikheda, Kerwa, Kaliyasot, Kolar, Bhadbhada, Tawa, Bargi, Mohanpura, Halali, Madikheda, Atal Sagar, Tighra, Bansujara, Johila.

On Tuesday, it rained in more than 24 districts of the state. Rewa received the maximum rainfall of 4 inches in 9 hours between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. The Chief Minister's program was cancelled here. He joined virtually. It rained heavily in Bhopal in the evening.

Three inches of rainfall was witnessed in Sidhi, 2 inches in Satna, 1.25 inches in Sagar, 1 inch in Mandla, and 45 inches in Gwalior and Narsinghpur. About half an inch of  rainfall was witnessed   in Jabalpur, Damoh and Jabalpur. Dhar, Guna, Shivpuri, Chhindwara, Khajuraho, Seoni, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Balaghat districts also witnessed rain. Rain continued in many districts at night.
