Veiled woman robs ornaments from jewellery shop

Shahjahanabad police have booked a veiled woman for robbery of gold and silver ornaments in Noor Mahal area in broad daylight on Thursday; accused robbed by throwing chilli powder in victim's eyes to commit the crime.

The crime was committed by a woman wearing a burqa (veil). Chilli was thrown in the eyes of the victim. Chilli was also stuffed in her mouth so that she could not scream.

After pushing her on the floor, the accused woman snatched two gold bangles and a gold ring worn by the victim. The accused woman fled after committing the crime in just two and a half minutes. The police are investigating the matter.

SHO of Shahjahanabad police UPS Chauhan said that Rizwana Hussain (63) lives in Ali Apartment Noor Mahal. Her husband is a manager in Silver Line Hospital. The woman was alone in the house on Thursday afternoon. Her son had also gone to work. The accused rang the doorbell of the flat. As soon as the woman opened the gate, the accused woman entered the house. She threw chilli in the eyes of the victim. The chilli also went into the woman's mouth. Due to this, she could not make noise. After this, the accused woman intimidated the woman and fled with her jewellery. The cost of the jewellery and how much it was has not been revealed yet. We are investigating the matter, after which we will take further action.

Rizwana's husband Athar Hussain said that his wife usually stays alone in the house during the afternoon. On Thursday afternoon at 12:45, someone rang the doorbell of their second floor flat. When the wife opened the gate, a woman was standing in front. She immediately threw chilli powder in the wife's eyes. To prevent her from making noise, the woman also forcibly stuffed chilli powder in the wife's mouth.

After this, the accused woman took off two bracelets and a gold ring worn by the wife. When she protested, she threatened to kill her. After committing the crime within just two and a half minutes, the accused woman escaped.

The accused woman was wearing a burqa while entering the house. While returning, she took off the burqa. The woman had already brought a polythene in her hand. The footage has been captured in the CCTV cameras in the accused woman's apartment. Immediately after the incident, the wife called me and informed me. Based on the description, the police are searching for the accused.

The Ali Apartment in Noor Mahal where the incident took place has more than two dozen flats. Old Dadda Mian lives on the ground floor of the building who is responsible for guarding the building.

He said that at the time of the incident, he was present in his flat located on the ground floor. There are 28 flats in the apartment. Hundreds of people visit the houses of the people living in this apartment located in the middle of a dense settlement every day due to Eid.

I did not even know when the woman in the burqa committed the crime. Two flats in the neighbourhood of the place where the incident took place are vacant. The police said that a family lives in the flat in front. They said that they did not hear any noise. The incident came to light when Rizwana's husband and son arrived.
