In a sharp condemnation of remarks made by a Congress party legislator, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit chief Vishnudatt Sharma on Thursday said that the pronouncements represented the mentality of the main Opposition Congress.
The Congress legislator from Sheopur, Babusingh Jandel, has been at the center of a political storm since his statements regarding Lord Shiva have come in for wide condemnation.Responding to the development, Sharma said that the insulting language used by Jandel highlights Congress's efforts and mentality aimed at eradicating Sanatan in the country.
Sharma remarked that the Congress government, led by Kamal Nath, had come to power on false promises of loan waivers for farmers but deceived them for 15 months without fulfilling its vows."Digvijay Singh, who ordered the firing on innocent farmers in Multai while serving as Chief Minister, is now pretending to be an advocate for farmers' rights," said the ruling party chief in the state, underlining that there was no shortage of fertilizer in the state and adding that farmers were also receiving subsidies for DAP. Sharma questioned Rahul Gandhi over Jandel's alleged use of abusive language towards Lord Shiva and asked the Congress party leader to clarify if he had opened a shop for love or for insults.
