Vaccination drive stepped up to protect livestock

Thursday, 11 July 2024 | Staff Reporter | BALRAMPUR

The Chhattisgarh Animal Husbandry Department has vaccinated over one lakh animals in Balrampur district to protect them from rain-borne diseases, an official statement said on Wednesday.

Livestock are at higher risk of contracting fatal infectious diseases during monsoon due to overexposure to moisture. Viruses spread quickly in small animals like goats.

So, the department has set a goal to vaccinate about 1.15 lakh goats.

Along with this, camps are being held to educate livestock owners about ways to foil diseases.
