Uttar Pradesh assembly’s special secretary Brij Bhushan Dubey lost his life in a road accident early Friday morning.
The 52-year-old special secretary met with an accident near Ayodhya on way to Lucknow with his son, Krishna Dubey, who was driving the car.
According to police reports, the accident took place around 1:30 am when Krishna attempted to overtake another vehicle. The car lost control, crashed into the road divider, overturned and veered into the opposite lane, where it collided with an oncoming truck.
The local residents quickly alerted the authorities and emergency service personnel arrived to transport Dubey and his son to hospital. Unfortunately, Dubey succumbed to his injuries, while Krishna sustained minor injuries and was discharged after treatment.
The impact of the crash left the car extensively damaged.
Circle Officer Ashish Nagar confirmed that Dubey’s body had been sent for autopsy and the family had been informed.
Brij Bhushan Dubey previously served in the state’s Information department before his appointment as special secretary in the Vidhan Sabha. In 2021, he was honoured with the Atal Ratna award for his dedication to public service.
