Madhya Pradesh is set to witness significant growth in its IT sector with the upcoming establishment of two new IT parks in Ujjain and Rewa. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav informed MPPost that the foundation stones for these parks will be laid in December.
The IT park in Rewa, with an investment of Rs 53 crore, and the one in Ujjain, costing ?48 crore, will together involve a total expenditure of Rs 101 crore.
These projects, developed by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Limited (MPIDC), are expected to contribute substantially to the state's economic activities.According to the information received, 60% of the space in these IT parks will be allocated to units related to IT, IT-enabled services (ITES), and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM).
The remaining 40% will be utilized for commercial purposes. The parks are projected to generate employment opportunities and foster local development in Ujjain and Rewa.Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted that the state government has amended the Madhya Pradesh IT, ITES, and ESDM Investment Promotion Policy-2023 to encourage investment in the IT, ITES, and data center sectors.
Under the revised policy, eligible investors will benefit from single-window clearance, support for capital expenditure and rent, land at affordable rates, exemptions on stamp duty and registration, and assistance with marketing and quality control.
To further bolster the IT sector, the state has introduced the Madhya Pradesh Cloud Policy-2024, which aims to provide cloud services and promote innovation in the field. The Chief Minister added that the government is offering a range of facilities to enhance the sector's capabilities and uniqueness.
Madhya Pradesh is steadily moving towards self-reliance in the IT domain. The state has already established five IT parks in major cities—one in Bhopal, two in Indore, and one each in Gwalior and Jabalpur. Additionally, MPIDC operates the Crystal and Atulya IT parks in Indore, alongside four private IT companies contributing to the state's IT infrastructure.
These upcoming IT parks in Ujjain and Rewa are expected to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position as a key player in the IT sector and attract significant investments while boosting regional development.
