Two day conference of Tata clinical society concludes

The 62nd Half Yearly Conference of Tata Main Hospital Clinical Society was held from September 27-29, 2024, at JRD Tata Auditorium Jamadoba.

 

The conference brought together around 95 doctors from Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur and Raw Materials locations like West Bokaro, Noamundi, Joda, Jharia Division, Meramandli and medical experts from Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon, NRS Medical College and Hospital Kolkata, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata. The main purpose of the conference was to share knowledge and latest techniques in medical science amongst all. This year's theme was "Basics and Beyond, Bridging the gaps."

 

The conference was graced by Chanakya Choudhury, Vice President Corporate Services, Tata Steel as Chief Guest and D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Raw Materials, Tata Steel as Guest of Honour at the inaugural function. Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, Dr Sudhir Rai, General Manager Medical Services Tata Steel, Dr Aloke , Chief Medical Officer, Tata Main Hospital, Jamadoba and Dr Ashok Sunder President Clinical Society TMH , Dr Sangita D Kamath Chairperson scientific committee ,TMH Clinical Society were present on this occasion.

The conference was extremely beneficial to the doctors associated with Tata Steel in all its operating locations. The conference helped in understanding the issues and bridging the gap between Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur and hospitals in other operating locations of Tata Steel.

The two-day conference started with a keynote address by Dr Sudhir Rai, General Manager, Medical Services, Jamshedpur. He spoke on a very interesting topic on “Reminiscences of a Surgeon from the Line of Action”. Dr Shandip K Sinha, Director Pediatric Urology, Medanta Hospital Gurugram, spoke on optimal timing for intervention in Pediatric urological problems. Dr Soumik Goswami from NRS Medical College Kolkata discussed in detail on obesity and diabetes and their management amongst Indian patients. This was followed by presentation of MBBS papers, DNB posters, specialist presentations and a symposium on various controversies, interesting and rare clinical cases, and emerging treatment protocols.

Eminent guest speaker, Dr Gaurav Agarwal HOD Uro Oncology, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata spoke on the use of robot assisted uro- oncological surgical procedures.  The conference included presentations from eminent doctors from Tata Main Hospital, on various burning issues.
