Saturday, 20 January 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

Traffic on various routes will remain diverted on Saturday from 10 AM onwards due to the Shobha Yatra being organised in Dehradun under the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi consecration programme. The officials informed that the route of the procession will be Parade Ground to Kanak Chowk to Orient Chowk to Clock Tower to Paltan Bazaar to Dispensary Road to Rangers Ground via Darshanlal Chowk. After the departure of the procession from the Parade Ground, no traffic will go from Survey Chowk, Buddha Chowk and Darshanlal Chowk towards Lansdowne Chowk. The traffic coming from Raipur Road will be diverted towards East Canal Road. After the procession reaches Kanak Chowk, no vehicle will be sent towards Kanak Chowk from Orient Chowk and Lansdowne Chowk. Vehicles coming from Rajpur Road towards Clock Tower will be diverted from Behel Chowk towards East Canal Road. After the procession reaches Clock Tower, the traffic from Chakrata Road will be sent towards Behel Chowk rather than Darshanlal Chowk. No vehicle will be sent from Darshanlal Chowk and Buddha Chowk towards Clock Tower. The traffic from Tehsil Chowk to Darshanlal will be diverted towards Buddha Chowk via Doon Chowk once the procession reaches Dispensary Road. After the procession reaches Darshanlal Chowk, no traffic will be allowed towards Darshanlal Chowk from Buddha Chowk, Clock Tower and Tehsil. The traffic will return to normal after the procession reaches Rangers Ground as per the orders of senior officials. The police also appealed to all people going to Chakrata Road from Rajpur and Raipur Road areas to use the route of Dilaram Chowk to Cantonment and Araghar to Prince Chowk to avoid traffic related issues.  They also said that the traffic pressure is expected to increase in Parade Ground, Clock Tower, Darshanlal, Rajpur Road, East Canal Road and Buddha Chowk areas between 12 PM and 3 PM. They appealed to them to use other alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience.
