Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that that our family members have returned, coming back to their homeland to preserve their religion. We will welcome all those who gain citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). It is fortunate that the new generation is becoming part of Madhya Pradesh, and they will have the same rights as other citizens.
They are welcome in Madhya Pradesh, and the state government will provide all possible assistance. These individuals will be proud to be residents of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made these remarks while discussing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, after granting Indian Citizenship Certificates to the first three applicants in the state at Mantralaya. Dr. Yadav presented citizenship certificates to Sushri Rakhi Das, Sameer Melwani, and Sanjana Melwani.
India Shows Generosity with Implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act
Chief Minister Yadav said that we are fortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to resolve an issue and restore such a relationship which reminds us of a united India. Before the year 1947, it was decided by the then government that we would protect the minorities in our respective countries. On this trust, many of our Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian brothers and sisters stayed in those places that were earlier a part of India. Contrary to expectations, our people faced a lack of security in those countries and had to suffer many hardships. Prime Minister Shri Modi has shown generosity by implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. It is a matter of joy for us that our people are coming to our country.
Eligibility for granting citizenship in CAA
After the implementation of these rules under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019, citizenship has been granted to three people for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. Section 6B has been added to the Citizenship Act 1955 to provide citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA). To be granted citizenship under CAA, the migrant must belong to any one of the communities out of the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian communities, the migrant must be a citizen of any one of the countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh or Pakistan and the migrants must have entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
