Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Swachh Bharat Diwas-2024 celebrations, bestowed numerous development projects to Madhya Pradesh from New Delhi. He virtually inaugurated the country's first modern and self-reliant cow shelter in Gwalior, alongside a compressed bio gas plant located on its premises.
At the state-level closing ceremony of "Swachhata Pakhwada" campaign, held at the Kushabhau International Convention Center in Bhopal on Swachhata Diwas, bhoomi-pujan and Dedication of projects worth Rs 685 crore under the Swachh Bharat Mission and Amrit Yojana took place. Additionally, various equipment and development initiatives of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation were also dedicated during the event.
Yadav expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the bhoomi pujan and dedication of public welfare projects worth Rs 685 crore for the state under the Swachh Bharat Mission and Amrit Yojana.
He noted that Prime Minister Modi also virtually inaugurated the 100-ton capacity bio CNG plant at the Cow-Shelter in Gwalior. During the programme, Yadav honored citizens and institutions excelling in the Swachhata Hi Seva-2024 campaign. Following Ujjain Municipal Corporation’s achievement of a three-star rating in the Swachhta Survey-2022, Rs 63.45 lakh was transferred to the corporation in a single click, providing Rs 3,000 each as an incentive to 2,115 Safai Mitras. He also engaged in a virtual conversation with the Swachhata Mitras of Ujjain, commending their dedication to their work. Furthermore, Dr. Yadav presented compassionate appointment certificates to the dependents of 26 employees who passed away while serving in the Municipal Corporation. Dr Yadav flagged off 125 new door-to-door CNG vehicles, six new hook loaders, two shredder machines, and one litter-picking machine for the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
The Chief Minister announced that gateways in Bhopal will be developed and named after prominent figures in the state's history. These gateways will honor notable personalities associated with Indian culture, including Lord Ram, Raja Bhoj, Raja Vikramaditya, and Emperor Ashoka. He assured that the state government would provide comprehensive support for the Namo-Upvan project being developed by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. It is important to note that the Swachhata Seva Pakhwada was organized from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Yadav commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for highlighting the importance of cleanliness from Red Fort on August 15, ten years ago. He highlighted that Indian culture upholds the principle of achieving happiness through a healthy body, with cleanliness being fundamental to good health.
Yadav praised sanitation workers for their dedication to maintain public health, noting that their work is both challenging and courageous. He likened their commitment to that of soldiers who sacrifice their lives to protect the nation, emphasizing that sanitation workers wholeheartedly devote themselves to keep the society clean and healthy. In recognition of their efforts, sanitation workers were honored by President Draupadi Murmu in Ujjain on September 19.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has alleviated a significant problem for women by ensuring the construction of toilets in every village. He said that the state government is making every effort to improve the conditions of sanitation workers and their families. Dr. Yadav noted that this initiative serves as a means to honor Mahatma Gandhi by truly implementing his principles.
