Two young women died after a speeding BMW car rammed into their two-wheeler in Indore on Sunday, the driver of the vehicle is absconding.
The accident, in the vicinity of Mahalaxmi Maidan, took place when the BMW being driven on the wrong side of the road collided with the scooter the young women were riding.
The deceased, identified as Diksha Singh and Lakshmi Singh when a high-speed BMW car, coming from the wrong side, collided with the scooter on which the two girls were riding.
The young women, who were on their way home at the time of the crash, were rushed to the hospital where they breathed their last.
Eyewitnesses say after ramming into the girls the car swerved and hit an electricity pole before coming to a halt.
The Chandigarh registered vehicle has been confiscated and efforts are underway to nab the errant driver.High speed vehicles have become synonymous with crashes since similar accidents have been reported from various parts of the country over the last decade.
Meanwhile in a separate incident on Sunday morning, one man died and another was grievously injured when a speeding car rammed into them in the Jahangirabad area of the state capital.The friends, identified as Sohail and Fareed, were in their way home after having tea in the Kaziq Camp area of the city.
While Fareed was killed on the spot, Sohail is undergoing treatment at a hospital.Police say they are checking CCTV camera images to identify and nab the driver who fled after dragging the deceased for nearly 20 feet.
