Under the guidance of Prof (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, the AYUSH department successfully conducted a yoga session for approximately 50 members of the traffic police team on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

The session aimed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga, which included subtle exercises, asanas, pranayama, meditation, and Om chanting.

"Traffic police officers face numerous physical and mental challenges such as stress, constipation, blood pressure issues, varicose veins, and asthma. Our session focused on yoga practices designed to alleviate these problems.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and many participants vowed to incorporate yoga into their daily routines," said Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh. In attendance were all the doctors and employees of the AYUSH department, who participated alongside the traffic police.

The yoga practice was tailored to address the unique challenges faced by traffic police personnel, who often endure long hours standing in the sun, exposure to pollution, and the stress of managing city traffic.

Dr. Danish Javed highlighted the benefits of yoga for traffic police, emphasizing its potential to enhance their physical, mental, and spiritual health. "Yoga can make traffic policemen physically stronger and more flexible, which is crucial for their demanding roles.

It also aids in mental stability and time management, helping them cope with the daily stress and pressure of their job. Regular yoga practice can boost their confidence, enthusiasm, and overall mental state, naturally increasing their sensitivity and balance," he explained.

This initiative is part of AIIMS Bhopal's ongoing commitment to community health and well-being, recognizing the pivotal role of the traffic police in maintaining city order and safety. The AYUSH department plans to continue such initiatives, promoting the integration of yoga into daily life for enhanced health and resilience.
