Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is going to be held in Prayagraj from 13 January 2025 to 26 February 2025. In view of the extra rush in trains on the occasion of Maha Kumbh Mela, the Railways has announced to operate Ranchi-Tundla-Ranchi (train number 08067/08068) Kumbh Mela Special Train.
This train will depart Ranchi at 10:30 hrs, arrive Muri at 11:38 hrs, depart at 11:40 hrs, arrive Bokaro Steel City at 12:55 hrs, depart at 13:00 hrs, arrive Gomo at 14:05 hrs, depart at 14:10 hrs, arrive Gaya at 16:10 hrs, depart at 16:15 hrs, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya arrival at 19:45 hrs, depart at 19:55 hrs, arrive Prayagraj at 23:10 hrs, depart at 23:20 hrs, arrive Govindpuri at 02:00 hrs, depart at 02:05 hrs and arrive Tundla at 06:30 hrs.
This train will depart from Tundla at 16:20 hrs, Govindpuri arrival at 20:00 hrs, departure at 20:05 hrs, Prayagraj arrival at 01:00 hrs, departure at 01:10 hrs, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay arrival at 05:20 hrs, departure at 05:30 hrs, Gaya arrival at 08:40 hrs, departure at 08:45 hrs, Gomoh arrival at 11:25 hrs, departure at 11:30 hrs, Bokaro Steel City arrival at 12:45 hrs, departure at 12:50 hrs, Muri arrival at 13:50 hrs, departure at 13:52 hrs and Ranchi arrival at 15:50 hrs. These trains will have 01 coach of SLRD, 01 coach of generator car, 08 coaches of general class, 03 coaches of AC 3-tier, 04 coaches of AC 3-tier economy and 01 coach of AC 2-tier, total 18 coaches.
Indian railways has started preparations ahead of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 which is expected to witness a huge surge in the number of visitors. During the Kumbh Mela, a total of 992 special trains will be operationalised to manage the large influx of pilgrims from January 12 to February 28.
Pilgrims will take part in Kumbh Mela for several religious events such as Paush Poornima, Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, Basant Panchami, Maghi Poornima, and Mahashivaratri.
A total of 992 more trains will be in addition to the existing 6580 regular trains operating during the Kumbh Mela. Apart from increasing the number of trains, the railways have also granted stoppages to 140 passing-through trains to allow boarding passengers from Prayagraj areas daily during Kumbh Mela.
Recently, Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw chaired a high-level meeting, also attended by Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu and V Somanna, reviewing the Kumbh Mela preparations and discussing the arrangements for special trains.
